Carol's first symptoms are described as shakiness, fatigue, and fainting spells. These symptoms were later followed by her slicing her wrists. Carol was immediately put under the care of a psychiatrist and admitted to a psychiatric hospital. Sadly, her ailment had nothing to do with psychiatry, but rather, was a physical ailment. Once its cause was discovered, Carol went on to lead a normal life.
