Why were other soldiers jealous of Wellington? Should they have been jealous? Why or why not?

Many of the other soldiers viewed Wellington with some jealousy, as he was the son of a marginal lord. However titled, Wellington's family had little money. As a younger son, Wellington would receive no inheritance of any kind. If Wellington did benefit from the family's position, it was due to the generosity of his elder brother Richard, the Governor-General of Bengal. So, it seems that these soldiers had no reason to be jealous of Wellington.
