How was Hitler affected by World War I?

Throughout those years, Hitler began to learn about war, its underpinnings, meaning, causes and effects. In a nutshell, Hitler saw it as survival of the fittest. WWII would become Hitler's re-creation of WWI; only in this war, Germany would arise victorious. Also, since Germany came so close to winning in WW I, Hitler very well might have thought that if Germany had just one more chance, it could be victorious.
