Like Alexander, Wellington gave a great deal of time and energy to his troops, often checking to make sure they were okay. Unlike Napoleon, Wellington rode alongside his men as they charged into battle. Wellington's devotion to his men was such that he gave his own bed to a dying officer, and when one of the men died, Wellington wept openly with grief. This shows that he cared a great deal for his men.
