The German Kristallnacht, the night of glass, is the name given to a general German anti-Semitic riot in Nazi Germany and Austria on November 9-10, 1938. Mobs torch synagogues, destroy business and stores, drag Jewish families from their homes and beat them in the streets.The German secret police arrest 30,000 Jewish men and take them to concentration camps. It is triggered by the assassination of a German diplomat by a Jewish student.
