After reading about how “teenager girls” were kidnapped "straight out of their own homes,” and how “ghosts… long dead souls with scarred faces [wandered] the country with no name and no past," La Flaca comes to the conclusion that, “if you were unlucky, no one would even remember your name: your real one, the one that everyone called you” (125).
