In the story, Lemon Pie, what does the Professor dream about while chained up in his cell?

The Professor dreams that aliens “glowing yellow like the most beautifully cut slice of lemon pie there ever was” (51) come to free him from captivity. They show the Professor a parallel universe, in which, he “ignore[s] the waving arms of the soldiers instead of pulling over" (52) and is never captured, until he begs them to stop. The Professor then dreams he tells the aliens that he can escape his captivity simply by kicking down the door; when the aliens ask him what he is waiting for, he wakes up.
