The Lottery In The Lottery by Shirley Jackson what does the lottery itself symbolize? Asked by bookragstutor on 20 Aug 10:23 Last updated by Jill W on 16 Sep 14:38
The lottery itself symbolizes lost tradition. It would seem that the lottery, at one time , had a significance to it. The lottery has ceased to have the meaning it once did and is now reduced to a morbid fascination.
