What is aggressive about the Big House?

Despite it's innocuous appearance, Jason thinks its windows look like angry eyes staring down at him and its doors, rather inviting him, look like they want to swallow him. The bronze eagle on top of the house swivels in the wind, seemingly telling him to runaway.
