What is T1 in the nonfiction book, The Lost City of the Monkey God?

T1, or Target One, is the first area Steve Elkins chose to look at with lidar mapping. It is about twenty square miles. It was difficult to get to, as it was covered with a dense rainforest. This is the area into which the expedition entered and found several archeological sites and a cache of ritual offerings. The other potential target areas, T2, T3, and T4, remain to be excavated and may also contain archeological sites.
