How did Jimmy perform at the piano recital described in the book?

At the piano recital that Herriot described in Chapter 30, Jimmy did not do so well. He kept getting stuck at a certain point and was not able to continue on. The teach had to ask him to stop trying and give it a second chance after all the other students had performed.
