There are two points of view in this novel. The first point of view presented in this novel is the first person point of view. In the chapters in which Ira is the narrator, his story is told from the first person point of view, meaning that Ira tells his story using the pronoun I. As the novel progresses, other chapters are narrated by either Sophia or Luke. These chapters are narrated in the third person point of view, meaning the narrator uses the pronouns he and she to refer to the narrating character.
