Meaning of Silver Dollars

The silver dollars symbolize different kinds of worth. Billy collects these silver dollars because he wants to have a complete set of them, not because of the amount of money they might be worth. Pastor John, however, sees the collection only for its monetary value. He is so greedy that he is willing to take the boy’s collection and injure him by throwing him from the train to acquire them.
