When Faith visits her father in his study, what seems to be wrong with him? Chapter Six

Upon entering the study, Faith finds her father's eyes are yellow, and he seems under the influence of drugs. He is scribbling on paper and Faith hesitantly calls his name. He whispers for her to get out and she does. She wonders if he has turned to opium.
