Agatha's religious ornaments are symbols that Agatha believes she is near death. Faith first notices them when she and Myrtle are invited to tea, and they later provide Faith with information about Agatha's character, which is why Faith believes the fake photograph of Erasmus at the excavation site will frighten her into telling the truth about Erasmus's death.
