Who were Tex and Belinda?

According to Grandma Moore, Tex and Belinda were two children Charlie gave birth to during her first marriage, but later abandoned. Grandma Moore shows Mary a photograph of the children one day when the pair is alone together. Grandma Moore swears that Mary is bound for the same abandoned fate if she doesn't learn proper behavior, a fate that terrifies Mary.
