After witnessing all the violence in Hector's family, Mary developed sleeping problems and frequently woke from sleep in the middle of the night. To cure her from her insomnia, Charlie thought it would be a good idea to serve her daughter burgundy wine mixed with 7-up. At the first drink, Mary said she felt like she was drinking stars, but later that night had to sit up in bed because lying down gave her terrible bed spins.
