How did Mary and Lecia find out they had missed Father's Day?

One morning, while Charlie and Hector were fighting inside, Lecia and Mary went into the stables to eat their sandwiches, away from the screaming. There, they encountered the McBride family, who was celebrating Father's Day together. Mrs. McBride asked the girls what they had purchased for their father as his gift. Mary was horrified to have forgotten, but Lecia quickly made up a lie and said that she and Mary had hand-crafted some fishing lures for their father.
