Who is William Lane?

William Lane is the biological son of Chrissie and Billy. He winds up marrying Tina. He was raised by his mother in a convent until he was three years old. At that time he was adopted by Donald and Martha Lane. They took him to the United States where he lived until he was thirty-four.

With his adoptive parents’ blessings, William went to Ireland to look for his adoptive mother. He had no luck at the convent where he was born but a nurse, Grace, who had worked there when he was born agrees to tell him all she can about his birth mother. Because she is only able to tell him his mother’s birth name, Grace suggests he try to get his mother’s birth certificate from the library in Manchester.
