Who is Kathleen McBride

Kathleen McBride is Chrissie’s aunt, her mother’s sister. When Dr. Skinner discovers that Chrissie is pregnant, he insists that she be sent to live with Kathleen in Ireland. Shortly after Chrissie arrives in Ireland, Kathleen gets sick with consumption and dies. In her will, Kathleen left her family farm, Briar Farm, to Jackie a young man who came to live with her on the farm after his parents died. She also arranged for Father Drummond to take care of Chrissie and her baby. She gives Father Drummond a roll of money to pay for Chrissie’s admission to St. Bridget’s Sacred Heart where her baby is born.
