The circus tent is where the disaster that leads to Harold's death occurs. On a pleasant June afternoon, The Flying Avalons were performing their blindfold trapeze act as the fourth act in the circus. Without warning, a giant storm swept in and the large pole at the center of the tent was struck by lightning just as The Flying Avalons had taken the stage. Harold falls to his death, but Anna is able to grab onto a wire and save herself.
