What is Nicopolis?

Nicopolis is where the crusaders set in with a siege but were then attacked and forced to fight oncoming forces. The author describes the overall setting, including that many of the crusaders had to work their way up a brutal hill to face the opposing forces. Jean died there, though the details of his death were not recorded. He may have been among the many crusaders who fought to their deaths or he may have been executed.
