who is Santos

Santos -- known by his friends as "Profe" -- is the oldest and the de facto leader of the group of men that Nelson and Manuel meet in the restaurant in "The Provincials." He is a history teacher and taught Manuel when he was growing up. As the story unfolds, it becomes clear that Santos resents Manuel for leaving his hometown for the capital city.
