Who is Nelson

Nelson is the narrator of "The Provincials." He has just graduated from a theater conservatory and travels with his father, Manuel, to Manuel's hometown to sign over his deceased great-uncle's house. Nelson's older brother, Francisco, lives in Oakland, California. Nelson too longs to move to the United States, but he cannot gather the momentum to do so, a fact that greatly concerns his father.
