How does Lou decide to avenge Chester in the novel, The Killer Inside Me?

Lou believes that Chester ordered Mike's murder and says that Mike's death caused his father's. Lou has come to believe that he cannot kill Chester, but he can kill Chester's son. This he hopes will hurt Chester the way Chester hurt his father.
