Pompeii symbolizes the brief and precious nature of life. Pompeii was an ancient Roman city that was destroyed by a volcano. When the family visits Pompeii and elands of its history, the tragic story makes them realize that life is short and precious, and that they should try to support and love each other rather than angrily argue.
