Thrushbeard is a personification of the heroine's excess animus in "King Thrushbeard." The heroine rejects Thrushbeard because he has a pointy chin. Thrushbeard disguises himself as a beggar, and he marries her in order to humiliate her. As a result, she loses her pride (her excess animus).
