What system of slavery was practiced among the Eboe people in the book, The Interesting Narrative and Other Writings?

The system of slavery practiced among the Eboe people can be summed up as very different from slavery in America. The Eboe people got slaves as prisoners of war with other African tribes, but these slaves were not treated very differently than the people who "owned" them. A slave would live as part of a family and do the same work that other members of the family did. Slaves could even own their own slaves, which is a little hard to imagine.
