The Hungry Tide is a novel about a number of different characters whose worlds come together in the Sundarban islands. For the most part the narrative point-of-view of the novel is the third-person omniscient narrator - this is a speaker who narrates externally from the events which are taking place and knows everything about what is going on within the story.
