Who is Teka from The Hero and the Crown and what is their importance?

Teka is Aerin's nursemaid. Teka was handpicked to raise Aerin before she was born, therefore she knew Aerin's mother for a short time. Teka often tells Aerin stories of her mother, but hesitates to indulge in the rumors that abound regarding the dead queen.
