Tobias’s and Alice’s wedding rings are symbols of game pieces. Tobias left a clue for Zara when he left her his wedding ring as part of her inheritance. Zara refused to play the game her father initiated. Avery and the others picked it up years later. The numbers that appear to be dates on the insides of the rings turn out to be GPS coordinates leading them to Tobias’s vacation home in Cartago, Costa Rica.
