Who is Dom?

The younger brother of Maddie, Dom is a quiet and rebellious middle schooler. He often sneaks alcohol from his parents and goes off to play in the woods alone. Maddie is his favorite person in the world, and he is deeply stung when she starts hanging out with the cool girls, and later Brooks, spending less time with him. He becomes possessive of Maddie, and this leads to a tragic event. Dom has been bullied at school and made to perform lewd sexual acts to his best friend. After meeting strong and handsome Jules, Dom begins to realize that he is homosexual. Navigating through this swirl of feelings, Dom is also given a “mission” by his grandmother, Veronica. His goal is to watch over the deteriorating Colonel whose memory is failing him.
