Importance of Oprah

At their now regular tea meetings, Maddie and Veronica bond over elaborately decorated pastries and Oprah. At first, Veronica thinks Maddie's obsession with the television icon is a little silly. However, Veronica begins to like the show as Oprah's inspirational sayings represent her new perspective on life, and she and Maddie recite Oprah's quotes to one another for comfort and guidance. Veronica breaks out of her comfort zone to bond with Maddie.
