Importance of Maid

When Maddie goes to White Eagle to visit Veronica, Veronica asks her housekeeper to dress up like a maid. As the two women have known each other for many years, the housekeeper does as she is asked, even though it makes her look lowly. As Veronica has more free reign because of the Colonel's failing mental health, she wants to prove her importance to Maddie, hoping that the maid uniform will depict her power.
