The Great Gatsby What was the ambiguity in Nick's initial description of Gatsby? Asked by bookragstutor on 28 Nov 08:47 Last updated by anonymous on 17 Dec 21:43
The ambiguity is that when Nick first meets Gatsby he does not know that he's the host. Gatsby is just referenced as 'a man'. Of course, the irony is that he's the host and Nick doesn't know him, and of course, Gatsby is an invention of Jay.
