Why does Tomiko wish her identity as the girl holding the white flag be kept anonymous?

Tomiko wishes to remain anonymous because she doesn't want a search to be conducted for the old couple she lived with in the cave. She fears that is found, their remains will be cremated and dumped somewhere.
