The majority of The Girl With Seven Names is written in first person limited omniscient. As a memoir, the story is told in the first person with Hyeonseo as the main character and narrator. However, in some sections Hyeonseo recounts events before she was born, when she was too young to remember them, or when she was not present. In these cases she primarily uses the third person.
