How did Clemantine's world change in Chapter One?

Clemantine's world changed when she was no longer allowed to attend kindergarten again, and she and her family were allowed to do less and less. Her parents constantly listened to the radio, and though she didn't understand what was happening, she heard about neighbors being robbed and grenades detonated, and she saw the men in the streets with guns.
