In Part 2, Section 12, why is Daisy visiting the newspaper office? What happens during the visit?

Daisy is visiting the newspaper office because she has read a newspaper article about a kitten that survived an explosion by landing on a lady's hat. Daisy wants the newspaper to print a story about James Elder's suicide attempt. She gives information about Elder to a newsman named Tom Kelly. Kelly informs her that she is breaking confidentiality laws by giving information to the newspaper about her patient.
