As is the case with most classical Greek drama; it is hard to get a clear sense of exactly what the type of language being used is because we are forced to read the work in translation. This even more true of comedy, which often relies heavily on work play and puns. Still it is not impossible to get some sense of what the language of Aristophanes is like.
