What is the theme in The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand?

One major theme in the novel, The Fountainhead, is individualism. This theme is illustrated throughout the novel in the character of Howard Roark, who refuses to compromise his beliefs for the latest new trend in society. He works for himself.... and only himself.
