How does Captain Oliver cure Ven's sea shakes?

Captain Oliver cures Ven's sea shakes by blindfolding him and forcing him to climb up to the crow's nest. Once there, the captain shows Ven there is nothing to be afraid of by pointing out all the wonders of the sea he can see, including a group of whales and their calves.
