What was Sunny's family like growing up?

Sunny was born in 1971 to a widowed mother. Her father Jimmy Curtis was killed just before Sunny's birth. Her mother did not remarry, and Sunny had no siblings growing up. Her mother did not share much information with Sunny about her father.
