What led Sunny to begin researching her father?

Sunny learned from a cousin that her father was killed in a concert. She also learned that the reason he was supposedly killed was connected to his having an affair with Opal Jewel, the singer. Sunny's mother would not talk about Sunny's father, so she began researching him at the local library.
