The Feather Thief
What is the author's focus in Part II of the book, The Feather Thief?
.
.
Part Two focuses on the Tring Heist itself including the months leading up to it and its aftermath, including the police investigation and Edwin's legal trial. This section includes 11 chapters, all of which are less than 10 pages. The inclusion of more short chapters is a structural decision which contributes to a faster pace in this section. Part Three focuses on the author Kirk Wallace Johnson's efforts to track down the bird skins which are still missing after Edwin's arrest as well as his efforts to better understand the motivations behind this crime. As the author becomes a detective-like character in the story, the broader implications and consequences of the Tring heist become clear.
