What is ironic about Augustus’s revelation regarding his health in Chapter 13?

Ironically, Augustus's prognosis of recovery was eighty-five percent when he lost his leg to cancer and Hazel's was that she would never fully recover. Now it is Augustus that is filled with cancer and Hazel that isn't full of cancer.
