What does Augustus reveal about himself at the cancer support group meeting in Chapter One?

Augustus reveals that he had a touch of cancer before, but that he is at the support group because Isaac asked him to attend. Augustus doesn't speak again until Patrick, the group leader, asks about his fears. Augustus says he fears oblivion.
