What is Tuor?

Tuor represents the importance of hope and faith. Despite beginning life as an orphan and living as one of Morgoth's thralls for three years of his young life, Tuor never gave up hope. In solitude, he prospered, trusting the voice in the water - later revealed to be Ulmo - to guide him where he needed to be. He trusted Ulmo enough to search for a hidden city that he never could have found on his own, and led the survivors back to the shores of the Great Sea because he trusted in Ulmo’s power. Tuor’s journey is entirely based off of faith and his belief in Ulmo’s protection. This later transfers to his son, Eärendel, who eventually defeats Morgoth.
