The Fall of Gondolin is a collection of all of Tolkien’s notes and the full short story of The Fall of Gondolin. The prologue focuses on world building and building connections that will become important in The Fall of Gondolin and all of the stories that come after it including Lord of the Rings. Then, Christopher introduces The Fall of Gondolin and includes Tolkien’s entire work in the state that it was when he passed away with some minor corrections. Then, Christopher includes other documents that tell The Fall of Gondolin in a different way. The second is a condensed version implied to be an early draft. The third document provides a deeper look into Tuor’s past and his journey to Gondolin. Last, Christopher includes a list of names and a few additional notes from himself to help explain Tolkien's thought process when creating this story.
