Gandhi desperately tried to fit in in his new life in London, but it was not an easy transition. He tried to learn to speak better English but was not very successful. During his time in England, his thirst for religious knowledge grew. Although he was a Hindu, he enjoyed learning about other religions. He loved the lessons and stories of the Christian Bible; however, where he found his most comfort was reading the Bhagavad Gita, the sacred book of the Hindus.
